What August Cleared the Way for
I'm writing to you from a place of spaciousness, both literally and figuratively. Before I tell you how I got here, let me back up. August was a full month, and not just because of the eclipse energy. It started with my birthday and moved into a beautiful season of Akashic Record sessions. If you were there, thank you - I've already shared more on that elsewhere, but it continues to feel like sacred work.
Underneath the sessions, I spent the month going deeper into ancestral healing, learning a more structured approach to healing the lineages of our blood ancestors, both known and unknown, rooted in Dr. Daniel Foor's Ancestral Lineage Healing framework. It's a beautiful practice, and one I hope to offer to you all before too long. But here's what REALLY made August feel full.
Kameron and I moved this month (just across DC!), into a smaller place that's right for what we need. In the process, I let go of some things that held real meaning - not the objects themselves, but what they carried. My daughter’s beloved iPad. Our dining room table. Things we'd shared life around. It was hard to release, but the eclipse energy and this whole season of purging gave me a way to hold it. I felt gratitude for the joy those things brought us, and am now open to making space for whatever new joy is on its way. After all, holding tightly to old things doesn't leave as much room for the delight of what's to come.
That same purging showed up in other ways, too. I did a lot of cleaning in my own energy field, and one thing surfaced clearly to be excised: my old pattern of believing I have to work hard to prove my worth. Underneath that pattern is the truer thing, which is that I am worthy of being simply because I exist. We all are.
If you've felt that purging too, this month's card pull is for you.
September Card Pull: Fortune
I asked the cards, what is ready to be received, now that I've made room? The Fortune card came through. Yay!
On one level, this is straightforward: get ready for a fortunate turn of events. Fortune is also a card about momentum, about cycles that are already moving whether we grip them or not. What I'm hearing for all of us this September is that the answer to "what's ready to be received" isn't a specific thing to chase or identify. It's the turning itself. Something is already in motion.
The card also carries a caution, and it's one I needed: stay at your center, don't get swept into the spinning of daily life. If we spend this month grasping at the good luck, trying to earn or prove we deserve the turn, we miss the actual invitation - which is to trust it, and let it move us rather than working to make it happen.
If you've been releasing something lately, in whatever form that's taken for you, September may be less about filling that space with something new and more about staying steady while things shift into place.
Coming in September
As always, my doors are open. If you've been feeling the pull toward a reading or energy healing session, I'd love to hold that space for you.
I also have an article coming out in Pathways Magazine's Fall issue about my experience with plant medicine and what the different kinds have taught me. I'll share it with you the moment it's live.
And finally, I want to help more people understand shamanic healing, including what it actually is and why you might want it alongside something more familiar like Reiki. Most people know Reiki, but fewer people understand what a chakra illumination is, for example, or what it can do to support your healing. I'm working on a few resources to make that clearer, so stay tuned. Follow me on Instagram and YouTube to be the first to see these videos when they pop up.
Here’s to staying centered this month!
