What We Gather As the Nights Grow Longer

Every fall, before a tree lets its leaves go, it pulls the nutrients out of them and stores them in its branches and roots. Only after it has taken back what it needs does it seal off each leaf and let it drop. I love this image as we move past the equinox and into the longer nights. The letting go comes after the gathering in, and the tree enters winter carrying everything it will need to grow again in spring. This month's offerings grew out of that same instinct to gather what nourishes us before the season turns inward.

If you've felt that purging-and-gathering too, this month's card pull is for you.

October Card Pull: The Star

This month I asked the deck: How can I call in what I need as the days grow shorter?

If I've read tarot for you, you might know that this is my FAVORITE card in the entire Thoth deck. Nuit, the goddess of the night sky, pours the water of life freely from two cups, one raised toward the heavens and one poured onto the earth. The card carries a feeling of being bathed in hope and renewal. Its answer to our question is that what you need is already flowing toward you, and your inner knowing will show you how to open to receive it.

It's profound that this card arrived as the nights grow longer. Stars are only visible in the dark, and this season gives us more of them. The quiet months ahead are a good time to listen for your own inner voice, which often speaks most clearly when the world gets still.

Coming in October

I've kept October's offerings small so each one can feel personal. Whether you'd like to connect with an animal guide, bring a question into the Records, or learn to access that guidance yourself, there's a way to tend your own light this month.

Group Shamanic Journey: Meet Your Power Animal
Sunday, October 18, 1:00–2:15 PM ET
This introductory journey is for anyone curious about shamanic work who'd like to experience it in community. I'll guide a small circle to meet the power animal who walks with them, and you'll leave with a simple way to stay in relationship with it. The group is limited to five people.

Group Akashic Records Reading
Friday, October 23, 7:00–8:00 PM ET
I'll open the Records for a small circle of five, and each person will have time with a question of their own. Come with one question you'd genuinely like guidance on, and plan to listen for what comes through for others too, since the group often receives more than any one person asked for.

OASIS 1-on-1 Teaching Track
Five 60-minute sessions between October 1 and December 31
Several of you have asked when I'm teaching the next OASIS Method workshop. I offer the group workshop twice a year, and for anyone who'd like to start sooner, I'm teaching the method one-on-one this fall. We'll meet five times, and you'll receive the workshop workbook and slides, recorded guided meditations, and personalized coaching as you practice accessing the Records and interpreting what comes through. I'm opening only two spots at introductory pricing, so schedule a call to learn more.

Where to Find Me This Month

In Pathways Magazine | My article on plant medicine as teacher, guide, and mirror is in the Fall 2026 issue of Pathways Magazine! Whether or not plant medicine is part of your path, I hope it opens a new way of thinking about who and what can teach us as we heal. Read it here.

At the Pathways Expo | I'll be at the Pathways Fall Expo on Sunday, October 25, at the Hilton McLean in Tysons Corner, Virginia. At 2:00 PM, I'm leading a session called "Finding Your Akashic Pathway," where I'll share four ways of attuning to the Akashic Records. You'll leave with a sense of which ones open the door most easily for you. The rest of the day, you'll find me at The Healer Within Collective booth offering mini Akashic Records readings, alongside a small batch of hand-poured Akashic candles I made for the occasion. See the full lineup of vendors, sessions, and experiences, and get your tickets here.

As the nights grow longer, I hope you'll look up, remember that you carry your own light, and trust that you've gathered what you need for the season ahead.
